WELCOME TO OUR BLOG: AN ANTI-RACIST SPACE
Welcome to our blog on multiculturalism and anti-racist education! This is an anti-racist space where every experience is valued. Through this blog, we hope to address the reality of poor race representation in North American school systems—specifically, within literacy practices and Language Arts classes. Each of the following blog posts provide a summary of each of the five chapters of the text, Rethinking Multicultural Education: Teaching for Racial and Cultural Justice.
Through our blog posts, lesson plans, and teacher resources, we hope to show you that curriculum in North America is not always inclusive and comprehensive of all races, cultures, and languages. Instead, using our work as a guide, our goal is to inspire teachers and students to share multiple racial perspectives in their Language Arts classes in order to promote acceptance, understanding, and empathy at all levels of education.
